While I don't have an official play for todays game, I do have an opinion on it, so here it is. I think a 6.5 point teaser would be just about perfect for this game.
Just think about it, wouldn't it be nice to have Kansas City +3.5 points at home. Doesn't that seem a lot better than KC -3? Also, look at the over/under figure. It opened at 43.5 points total, then got bet down to 41.5, before bouncing back up to current level of 42.5. Let's think about this for a second, what would cause the total to shift like that? Well first the sharps hit the under, driving the number down. Since then Joe Public has been hitting the over, causing a restatement. It's only a matter of time before the sharps come back in and start hitting the under once again. Why does the public bet the over? Same reason they always back the favorite, just what the public does. These 2 consistencies by the public better are absolutely crazy, like they don't even really watch football or understand what is going on. Betting the favorite I can get, I mean nobody wants to bet on a team that is supposed to lose, but underdogs have more motivation than favorites, and the NFL is so competitive that a few extra points never hurt anybody. The public also thinks games are high scoring affairs, and take the over. Total betting and Line betting are usually split by the end of the season, so no real advantage of taking either.
Sorry I got away from things there. Back to the game. My thought, what if we take KC and turn them into a dog. At the same time, we add a few more points to the total and give us more cushion for the under. A 2 team 6.5 point teaser play does just that. It takes KC from -3 to +3.5 and the total from 42.5 to 49. KC offense had some success against Houston, but Denver D is better, so should keep them in check. Denver is a ground and pound team themselves this year, and we are talking 20 to 30 mph winds tonight in Arrowhead, which never makes it easy to throw. So thats it, my thoughts on what you should do, if you decide to do something on this game.
